1.What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Spent a year as an adult without paid work.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Still keeping the one from years ago not to make any more.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What countries did you visit?
United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, France

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
Really looking forward to getting back to the workforce; a new Rector in church

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
October 26th, not only would it have been mum's 80th birthday, but it was the date of my first interview with the company that finally employed me

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Staying alive, staying sane, staying solvent

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not finding the right job sooner.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Jars of marmalade to call my own,

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Viv's.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
My own.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Groceries.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Viv. I don't think that's what the question means.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
I'll come back to this one later.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you;
i happier or sadder?
Was pretty happy before, heppier now.

ii. thinner or fatter?
Thinner.

iii. richer or poorer?
Poorer, but still rich in global terms. And richer spiritually.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Fixing up websites. Studying, reading.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Wasting time online.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With the family. Done it already.

21. Did you fall in love in 2006?
Many times. But always to the same person.

22. How many one-night stands?
365. But always the same woman.

23. What was your favourite TV program?
Morse, from Viv's last year's Christmas present. Star Trek Animated. Some of Little Britain.

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Don't hate nothing at all except hatred

25. What was the best book you read?
I'll come back to this one later.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Not sure there was one. YouTube.

27. What did you want and get?
A job.

29. What was your favourite film of this year?
I'll come back to this one later. Snakes on a plane?

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Scarcely anything. We were preparing for the Won World Weekend. Viv points out we also went out for pizza and margaritas.

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Paid employment.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Same as usual. Oh dear.

33. What kept you sane?
Viv. Music. And faith in God, the maker of everything that has been made.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Nobody.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?
Stupid security.

36. Who did you miss?
Lots of New Zealand people, too many to name.

37. Who was the best new person you met?
Lots of people at church and elsewhere in Wirral. And some people I've got to know well online, but never actually met. People I number among my friends: but perhaps they know who they are. Maybe not!

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006:
Tomorrow is another day.
