12:36 pm: A minute's break
At the end of a long week, it was off to the Civic Centre in
Bromborough for the Fiesta Latina, a night of Latino festivities,
including food, dance and speakers from South America, one of whom we
were putting up overnight. It was quite late when we turned in, but an
early start as he had to be on the road to Carlisle for another
similar event, leaving before 7. But that was good: we had another
event to help set up this morning. The timing, unfortunately, was not
good: you can't promote two events so close together. Even so, the
cake sale raised £220 ($440) this morning. I'm now on my way back
home. Probably some or all of my sons will have risen and shone by
now. Weather report: blue sky, reasonably warm, light breeze... in
fact, just the weather I usually describe when people ask me, except
that for once it's true.

Well, that's a lucrative cake sale.

A Fiesta Latina sounds like fun.

Yes, but it could have been more so. Last year's, with better timing, was around the £500/$1000 mark.
