07:44 pm: Sri Lankan pizza
A Sri Lankan pizza is a pizza made by a Sri Lankan establishment. Sri Lanka (formerly known as Ceylon) has a large expatriate population in Wembley, it seems.
Sri Lankan food is notorious for being extremely hot and spicy. The pizza I bought lived up to this reputation, so I'm quite glad not to have bought one that was advertised as "hot". I didn't realise that the place was under Sri Lankan management when I stepped through the door, though there was no mistaking it afterwards: the newspapers, the posters on the wall, the music and the whole ambience of the place made it quite clear.
natesmountain and louderback, thanks for asking! I still read both of your LJs, even if I don't comment as often as I ought, sorry.
That goes for many of the rest of my flist, too.
Friends: are you in or near London? I'd be pleased to catch up with you in real life some time. Just drop me a line if interested, and I'll see if we can work something out.

Thank you for a very good explanation of your 'Sri Lankan' pizza! Sounds good. My father went to Sri Lanka many years ago and was the first 'white' St Vincent de Paul leader to go to Batticaloa and Trincomalee! They named a shop after him *g* He also went to Colombo. He had a great time until a wealthy woman insisted on cooking him a meal of fish, a great honour apparently, for her to do this herself. Unfortunately he got 'Colombo Tumbo'!! Later, when he was better, the people he was with were driving over a bridge and stopped to show him where the fish he ate had been caught! He could see how he got ill *g*

Aw, you're so kind! I worked it out yesterday and a huge percentage of my flist rarely comments!! It really mustn't matter, although sometimes I miss the interaction. And the friendship. I do miss that a lot. But I can't count comments because I know almost all of my flist still reads my LJ for ...what reason, I'm not sure *g* my vastly entertaining lifestyle? Heh. I always read your LJ but if you talk about banking or business, you've lost me! And the commuting, I kind of read as if I was on the journey myself, you can be quite descriptive sometimes!!!
