Saturday night, and I was persuaded to take part in the Stokes Valley School quiz night, in a thrown together team. For a group of strangers, we did very well, with my extensive knowledge of Africa giving our team a huge mark in the geography round. Howvere, in the Kiwi rock music round, I would have scored a big, fat zero, while another of our team members provided a contest winning 16/20 on songs I had scarcely ever heard, let alone identified. The prizes are modest, but that's not what it's about: it's a school fundraiser. It was a late night, however, especially after the organisers had tidied up afterwards. This morning was another regular Sunday, though after the service and the lunch we went off to Lyall Bay to check where Viv will be taking a chess team for a tournament tomorrow.
