Rainy days and Mondays get me down

It was extremely hot yesterday and the heat and humidity continued into the night. About 4 this morning, we were woken by a huge rainstorm, which has continued most of the day, leaving Wellington very humid and damp.
It was to a backdrop of this that the day progressed. Viv took delivery of the new sofa under relatively adverse circumstances, simultaneously preparing a speech for tonight and helping out our neighbour whose car was damaged last night by person or persons unknown.
A steady stream of work for me, meanwhile, as I continue to show Ivonne how the reporting I have been doing thus far works, while also preparing more information relating to the new role I have.
This evening, a fairly ordinary chicken-and-rice dish, not bad considering the lateness of the hour at which I returned, as compared with the time Viv needed to leave.
I have spent the rest of the evening transferring my previous venture at web diary into LiveJournal. That was a history of what I did while Viv and Chris went back to England in late 2000. Some of you may already have seen this, for others it will be new and bewildering.
However, my style doesn't seem to have changed much, so if you don't like what you read here now, you certainly won't enjoy the older material.
