Hallelujah, Christ is risen!

He is risen indeed, Hallelujah!
This Easter morning began with us rising just after five and getting ready for the morning service at six, the celebration of new life and resurrection. At the service, truly a celebration, as well as the confirmation of Barry and the baptism of Louise.
A parish breakfast afterwards, with cereal, fruit, coffee, juice...
After that, we went on a drive around the area, stopping to look out over the Hutt Valley and into Wellington. It has been a beautiful Easter morning.
Friday morning saw us learning our lines for the passion play. I took the role of Caiaphas, the High Priest - I always get the good parts! Viv played Mary the mother of Jesus at the foot of the cross, while David was the blind man who wanted to be cured, Matthew was Malchus (the guy whose ear was cut off) and Christopher was the cock that crowed after Peter denied knowing the Lord.
After the service, the boys went off to play at the AJ's, leaving us a couple of hours free. We went into Naenae and found a dodgy Chinese open, so I had vege fried rice and Viv had shrimp fried rice. It was pretty quiet for the rest of the day after that. We had a game of Cluedo though. More later...

The Queen Mother

Without question, the most popular member of the Royal Family. In my memory, she has always been old, but not in the way that so many people are old. The dignity and calmness of this lady from the previous generation.
