Let's try that again

A beautiful morning dawns as I prepare for the Boomrock adventure. We will start with a talk from Sven Hansen, then off into the bush for archery, clay bird shooting and the Challenge, followed by a late lunch. An early version of the programme had the activities after lunch, which sounded very dangerous, but good sense has prevailed. The day is ideal, perhaps a little too warm. Fine, northerly to 40km/h max 20 min 10. We also have a cloudless sky ("eine wolkenlose Himmel") and a hot sun. All before 8

Why can't before be more like after

It was a very rewarding day. My performance at clay birds was disappointing compared with last year's, while my archery was abominable. But we all learnt lots and built up the team. Lunch was very fine, but not overbearing. A quiet evening and a realisation about an hour ago that I have sustained sunburn on the forehead. This would be worse, of course, if I were a Klingon. Surprised indeed to find that word in the tegic telephone dictionary. But it's the end of the day now, so goodnight, sleep tight.
