Kiwifruit Country

The weather continues to be very kind to us. Te Puke today and a trip round the orchard in the Kiwi carts, followed by some playing in their park, with the maze and the magic taps. They're much older children now: there's no going back to how much fun it used to be here. By the miracle of mobile phones, email and LiveJournal, a happy birthday to sheaj34, twenty years after a famous birthday party which went a long way to changing history.

Mazes

There are a number of mazes in the area and we attacked two today: the dragon maze at Te Puke and the 3d maze at Te Ngae. The 3d maze has four coloured corners. The object is to enter the maze, visit each corner and exit using the same entrance, all without collapsing of exhaustion under the summer sun. It is possible, just. We baked, and went to look at another waterfall on the way back to town. Dinner tonight: Sizzler - a cross between the old Berni Inns and a family restaurant. Great steaks.
