Shepherd's warning

Yes, a red sky. But this morning, a spelling commentary. Recently, someone commented that those who list 'athiesm' as an interest do in fact have an object of worship: the god of I before E. However, I also noticed there are a fair number of believers who pledge allegiance to a 'diety' and I don't think they are worshipping eating less. Different beliefs, same spelling goof. That is all.

Toast and rescue

This morning's meeting had speeches about Antarctica and IQ. But the main excitement of the day was the Basic Rescue course. Companies in Wellington will pay for this course for the same reason SFO companies will: the city is on a major fault line and one day we will have The Big One. Basic rescue covers what it suggests, though much of it is the troublesome task of securing people to stretchers and carrying them up or down staircases. This is a very rewarding but very tiring course.
