Tuesday, preparing to travel

Well, Monday morning saw me travel to Liverpool to pick up some train tickets, some socks, some notes for Viv and a Bible for me, as well as having lunch in town with bamboobowboy. Central Liverpool was largely snow-free. After lunch, we just happened to turn away from Liverpool Central, so rather than retrace our steps, we got on the train at Moorfields. This proved to be just as well, as Central had closed (though it had been open when we used it earlier). As the train doors closed at Lime Street, the guard announced that the train would not be stopping at Central. Shouldn't he have done that before he closed the doors?
On arriving home, it was pretty much time to get changed before my 5:30pm (!) interview in Chester. This was a preliminary discussion with a company before a possible formal interview, and it seemed to go very well. But, as usual, I'm reluctant to go counting chickens.
After I got home, I had an evening-meal of salmon and various vegetables, and then we watched University Challenge before watching the bleak drama-doc about Kenneth Williams ("Fantabulosa"). It was very dark, and didn't offer any light moments in a study of this unhappy, obsessed and indulged man. Like so many great comics, his own life was anything but light.
This morning, I've prepared for a trip to London for this evening's risk management seminar, as well as writing to Chris's bus club (providers of the school bus), Virgin Trains (providing free first class return tickets to anyone who flies MAN/LON or LON/MAN in Feb or Mar), and Great Rail Journeys, (taking vivh and her mum to Switzerland in May).
But for now, just about to finish throwing clothes and computers into a bag and setting off for the big city. Thanks of course to mike2sheds who will be putting me up and putting up with me tonight.

Euston station...

Just about noon, I left home to catch the train to Liverpool to catch the train to London. And so it was that on the trip there I read the free newspaper Metro - today apparently they start their 15th city - Cardiff - so what are the other 14? I know Liverpool was the 14th, last week.
On the trip to London, I spent some time listening to the studies on Joshua/Judges/Ruth and on the Nephilim. It only seems to be on trips like this that I have time to listen to anything much. It's because there's no net connection to waste my time. I think it's probably time to unplug the net connection and do something more useful at home, whether it's scriptural study or risk management study. Of course, it's easier to go cyberslacking tha spend time in any sort of study.
As I type this, I don't have a net connection: I'll copy and paste it later! We're just north of Watford Junction as I type this. At least, I think that's where we are...according to the schedule, twenty minutes north of Euston. I'll take my time.
