black king

What a day and a half this has been

Up just after six as usual, and walking along Holland Park Avenue at
eight, as I embarked on what I knew was going to be a long day's work.
However, I was not prepared for what would prove to be a day of
various problems with data and stuff, meaning that I didn't get away
from the office until well after midnight. Perhaps I shouldn't have
cancelled my hotel booking. I'm just about the only sober person for
miles around. The hen party going home, two carriages up, are by far
the scariest of the passengers on this two o'clock to Bletchley, with
connecting bus service to Milton Keynes. And unfortunately, I think
I'll be on the same train I would have been on if I'd picked it up at
Euston at 05.25. Goodnight all.

Milton Keynes

I don't think I've ever actually set foot in MK before. On arrival at
Bletchley, there was supposed to be a bus. Eventually, one did show,
but it wasn't the bus that was supposed to be there. Like so many
other buses, it took a circuitous route between two railway stations,
before finally dropping me off here at MK Central, an enormous station
where nothing is happening except for some people cleaning the
station. And the next train is more than two hours away.
I'm going to stop typing now because I'm spending more time correcting
errors than typing new stuff.
