Rain and winds of alarming intensity have battered the Capital. On and off, rain of the strength only normally seen in a cyclone, and wind that could blow you away. Not usual, even here. The other night, we were trying to explain the dark shadow the Cold War cast over our youth, without complete success. We also found that part of the illustrative soundtrack has not survived. Lindisfarne's Sleepless Nights sounds like a snowstorm with the band playing in a nearby city. This didn't help our explanation. Not much else new: you get more news when I'm away and things are away from the norm, subject to www access being available. Next is a day at work, with Toast at lunchtime and Vestry tonight. And the sun has started shining again, though not very brightly yet. More later?
