Politically correct bus stops in nanny state New Zealand
They closed two bus stops in our area at the weekend. Now, all the bus services in both directions go from the same stop. Reason: so that people transferring to another service don't have to cross the road. Actual impact: Most passengers aren't transfers and now have to cross the road twice a day instead of once. Most services have to go round the roundabout nearly twice. There are now three stops next to each other, one shelter and a section of newly poured concrete. Guess where the bus stops. Clue: the driver doesn't have to stand in the rain and seemed uncertain about what concrete is. Still, at least the rain is lighter than it was last night.
