Where was I?

Oh yes, Altrincham. I'm sure I posted this yesterday, but I don't know where it went. Hopefully I didn't post it somewhere else. Altrincham, a town 700 years old, with rain and lots of old buildings. After an interview with an agency, it was time to come home. In fact, I didn't have breakfast at BK - the courtesy bus took me straight to the railway station and so I missed out on BK. By the time I got to Manchester Piccadilly, I had a look at the BK there and it didn't inspire, so I had a bacon and sausage roll and a coffee from Upper Crust instead.
As I type this, I know I have typed it before. Where did it go?

After my return, Viv and I discussed what we might do with Chris with regard to school. We were not happy about the thought of him ending up at Neston Comp, so I got in touch with my old school, Birkenhead School, often referred to in The Times as a minor public school. Could we get Christopher into the school? Yes, but he would have to sit their entrance exam...how about tomorrow? So an early start this morning saw us at the school by nine, Chris starting the tests at 9:30 while Viv and I were shown around, before we went home after lunchtime (by which time he had been shown round too). This afternoon we did have a BK on the way home, after which we were almost immediately back at the school to show copies of Christopher's reports to the Headmaster. He has offered Christopher a place, and we have accepted it. All this in one day, while it has taken us weeks to deal with the Local Education Authority, with no satisfactory outcome at all.

The only problem is that after a day like that, Viv and I are wiped out, while the boys are actually quite bright. For guff about the school, visit http://www.birkenheadschool.co.uk if you like.
