09:28 am: Wednesday morning
Tuesday was a very quiet day. The cold and the fog from Monday morning seem to have affected us, but it took a while to get going. After lunch yesterday, we went into Liverpool to take two of Viv's clarinets for service and repair. Then we bought a variety of exciting things: boots, tights, a cardigan, before coming home, having chicken for tea and seeing Viv go off to Christmas choir practice.
As for me, the main achievements recently have been new content at http://thesmirks.com - a website for a little-known band from my youth. But I have also been doing other exciting things like changing light bulbs. No, I don't want a medal for making coffee, washing the dishes or changing the lightbulbs. I can't think of an _appropriate_ light bulb joke at the moment.

How many real men does it take to change a lightbulb?

None. Real men aren't afraid of the dark.

How many Irishmen does it take to change a lightbulb?

Fifty. One to hold the lightbulb and forty-nine to turn the house around.

But I had better stop, you said *appropriate* didn't you!
