Where does the time go?

Good grief, it must be a week. I always think it's only been a couple of days since I posted, but in fact a week has gone by. We've been working through the planning for a weekend of events at church on 7/8/9 July which will be a bit of a challenge, while Viv also works on the "Pentecost Party" we're having this week.
We went to see "The Da Vinci Code" yesterday...reading the book has proved beyone me as far as time goes at the moment, so the film gives us a chance to find out roughly what it's all about. It seems to be a fairy story in the modern idiom. C S Lewis explained the genre quite well in the foreword to "That Hideous Strength" - start with a familiar setting and then develop it along unexpected lines. The problem is that the "woodcutter's cottage" is now so far removed from our reality that we don't see the contrast. In "That Hideous Strength" the setting is a college, while the setting for "The Da Vinci Code" is the modern church and world. And after the movie, we went off for a meal at Frankie and Benny's. The rest of the week doesn't get a mention, unless I think of something vitally important that I missed mentioning.
