Hell Pizza promotion
An employee of New Zealand's Hell Pizzas writes: "we were not allowed to put this one up"

I love the advert but I didn't get what it has to do with pizzas, unless Hell makes pizzas AND condoms. I did 'the Google' on it and am slightly better informed about the ad campaign. As a line it is great however, another thought occurrs to me. For years public health folk have tried to get across the message that 'pulling out' just doesn't work so though Hell's pizzas might think they are doing a public service, it could be construed as not particularly informative or helpful. Funny, definitely. But to improve New Zealand's teenage pregnancy rate? I wonder.
We got the condom in the mailbox a couple of weeks ago - labelled LUST. My friend's children brought their one down to the house, opening it on the way, and she was furious - they are seven, nine and eleven. She stormed into our local Hell's Pizza just down the road and demanded to know what it meant, that children could find a condom in the letterbox. They couldn't really give her an answer, so she said she'd just have to boycott Hell's Pizza from now on.
Our condom is still sitting here in its little shiny package...

Aye, inappropriate - to say the least. One of Hells' "branding" techniques seems to be to offend people so much they at least feel strongly about Hell. I don't mind the pizza, but the brand is a little hard to swallow - much less order a pizza online from my grandfathers house ;)
And interestingly, my children prefer Pizza Hut or Dominos. None of them like Hell's!
And I suspect my children are faintly moralistic about the endless offensive advertising, the hearse and coffin car parked outside, the kerbside mannequin dressed as a she-devil that was meant to lure people in for a while, the names of the pizzas even! I mutter and they take it on board as a personal campaign.
And nothing new there - I am not permitted to buy eggs unless they have 'SPCA approved' on the carton and two out of three children have rejected sausages outright *g* - I tread carefully round the supermarket LOL!

just hijacking this thread and all.
mmm. yes, theres a debate in my family about the KuneKune pig
lasting longer than Christmas.
Certain of my younger brothers [nat_boothnz
] kinda like it.
I must say it's a cool pig, and its so intelligent - i was up for the weekend and have been teaching it tricks, and it learns faster than the "bear"
, in fact it keeps the chickens in line and amuses das kinder for hours... so affectionate.. admittedly it has gained, like 30 kgs in the last few months (I used to be able to hold it in one hand!). lilblip
loves it.. and i'm sorely tempted to stretch the zoning laws out here, and get one of them myself. It'd solve the organic waste disposal angst in this house at least. heh.
