10:19 pm: Help wanted - Americans in Britain
For a piece of research, I would like to know:

Where do Americans go in Britain?

I'm looking to find out where long-term residents of Britain who are U.S. citizens might reasonably be expected to go. I'm not talking about tourists: if someone was looking to market goods or services, where should the advertisements be placed for best effect?

Although I'm looking at Americans in Britain, it's possible that other nationalities or other countries might be able to provide some insight on this one.

If you can help, please comment!

My experience has been London. I've met several US citizens living in London, but not usually eleswhere.

Thank you. I'm looking for specifics: where in London? Will I find them at cinemas, theatres, banks, food halls, soup kitchens...
But your comment that London is the main place doesn't surprise me too much. Most of the time, they will be working for places with head or regional offices in London.
The issue that just about every head office has to be seen to be in London is an issue for another day.

Banks are a good place - my friend gloria1 has many of them as colleagues (not surprisingly as her employer is US-owned) but they also come in to work in other areas of banking.

You also find US citizens in the creative fields - magazine publishers, TV and film production offices and advertising companies. I used to have huge problems expalining to them that they had to apply for National Insurance numbers in person.
