it was pretty much straightforward, except for the train that was not
going to Liverpool Street after all.
Then a day at work, varied and exciting as ever, and not suitable for
writing about in a public place, also as ever.
Then on to the extraordinary Christian network meeting, the like of
which I had never seen before.
But now, it's the Metropolitan Line to Wembley Park and, with luck, an
early night. The small number of hours I slept last night need to be
matched by a larger number tonight. On the other hand, it was possible
to doze on the train this morning, somethimg never possible on the
epics from Auckland to Hastings via Matamata, Taupo and Napier ten
years ago or indeed on the Hastings to Wellington route. Let's see
now: Hastings, Waipukurau, Dannevirke, Woodville, Shannon,
Paraparaumu, Wellington. That was how I used to divide that journey
into manageable pieces. Bromborough, Chester, Crewe, Watford Jn,
Euston, Liverpool Street...doesn't work as a division of that journey.
By now, in any case, I'm at Baker Street, Zone 1, just two
Metropolitan Line stations from Wembley Park, Zone 4. That is all.
