There was a gale and heavy rain mid afternoon but they cleared miraculously, leaving a cold, windy city and not nearly so many people as usual. Viv and the boys joined me in town for tea before the show. It started with fireworks from a basket below a helicopter, a new one on me, and continued with the usual displays of stars and flowers from the barge in the harbour. Because of the poor weather and low numbers, we have got to the station easily and the train is not too crowded. I'm sure we'll sleep well!
